Working closely with the Facebook Timeline team, print company MOO translated their Cover Photo concept to a Business Card format by mirroring the fonts, layout and iconography of the Timeline. See image above for how your Cover Photos translate to Facebook Cards.

Each pack contains all of your Cover Photos and each card will display your name, company or college, where you live as well as your Facebook URL, phone number and e-mail address. Located on the back of the card is space for you to add your own quotation or sentence about yourself. By default MOO will pull in the first quote we find in your Favourite Quotations field but you can edit this to say whatever you like.

Once the design was set, MOO worked hard to make the build flow for these cards as simple as possible. By using the Facebook API they can prefill pretty much every detail mentioned above. All you have to do is click Next, Next, Next. It couldn’t be any easier!

To prove it, here’s a video of how to make the cards to show you just how easy it is:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FE_o8favJoU

To make your own Facebook cards just go to your http://www.facebook.com/yourfacebookusername/info and hover over the little Business Card in your Contact Info. Timeline MUST to be enabled for this to work. Check out the image below.

Right on the heels of Google’s launch of social gaming, Facebook has just announced changes to its gaming system that it says will make games easier to find and play.

Those who play games on the social network will now have a separate stream that displays their friends’ game activity, as well as their scores and achievements in a ticker, Jared Morgenstern, Facebook’s product manager for games and credits, said in a Facebook blog post.

Official Release:

For those who enjoy games on Facebook, we’re launching new features to make it easier to find new games and play with friends.

A new game ticker
When you’re playing games, you’ll now see a separate stream of your friends’ game activity, scores and achievements in a ticker. The best way to find new games is through friends, and now you’ll have more opportunities to see what they’re playing.

Maybe your best friend has started playing Sims; your roommate has a new high score on PacMan; or your mom and sister have taken up Words With Friends. Simply click on a story and you can start playing the game yourself.

You can now control who can see these stories for each individual app in your Settings. If you want friends to see you’re playing one game but not another, you can change that. You’re also able to limit visibility directly from the ticker by clicking “X” on a story to remove it.

More room to play
We’re also introducing a bigger screen for game play so you can have a more immersive experience. You’ll begin seeing games that can expand to full screen, such as CityVille, Zoo World, Monster World, and Mystery Manor in the coming days.

Bookmark your Favorites
If you use a lot of apps or games, you can now keep the best ones at the top of your bookmarks on your homepage. To add a new favorite, click the menu next to the bookmark. You can also rearrange, remove, and edit settings from the same menu.

Whether you like sports games, word games, strategy or classic games, they are all better when played with your friends. We hope these updates make playing games on Facebook even more fun.

Having dominated the landscape of social media as we know it, Facebook now gives you yet another way to keep in touch with all those friends of yours. A new messenger app is going to change the way we have been using VoIP services and could present the popular Skype with a competitor that it can’t defeat.

Facebook Messenger for iPhone was developed by Crisp App and is available in Apple’s App Store. For $2.99 you get a convenient way to voice chat with your Facebook friends on-the-go. Select a friend’s name from your contact list, tap the call button, and they’ll receive a link to complete the connection in their current Facebook tab. Once your friend clicks through, your VoIP chat session is ready to go.

It’s still early (the app was released on February 17th), but the reviews for this app have been very positive so far.

Facebook users are familiar with the popular option to proclaim their relationship status and freely change their personal information from “single,” “in a relationship,” “engaged,” “married” or the ever mysterious “it’s complicated.” Last week, Facebook also added two new options to its list of relationship statuses including “in a civil union” and “in a domestic partnership.”

Now there is an app for Facebook users who actually want keep tabs on their friend’s relationship statuses.

It’s called the “Breakup Notifier” and it allows you to go through your friends list and choose potential friends that you might be interested in. The app then puts your selected friends onto a list that notifies you if their relationship status ever changes.

In other words, if you are tired of hitting the refresh button desperately hoping that the object of your affection has suddenly become single, then you’ll love this: You will INSTANTLY be sent an email when the object of your desire changes their relationship status.

Dan Loewenherz, 24, the creator of “Breakup Notifier” and a developer based in Beverly Hills, Calif., said it took him just about four hours to build the application.

The tagline from the app’s Web site pretty much says it all: “You like someone. They’re in a relationship. Be the first to know when they’re out of it.”

The app had more than 100,000 users in under 24 hours, and now has more than 200,000 users.

Following a six month promotion of free Facebook credits, the company has decided to end the program while making the move toward complete integration with all games on the social network.

Users who have free credits remaining might be a little frustrated. The decision by Facebook to pull the free credits program is most likely a result of the need to drive users to buy credits rather than just claim free credits.

Rumors have been swirling about that the credits expiration will only be applied to a limited group of users. Our guess is its for users who never even loaded a game after redeeming a free credits offer. As the July 1st deadline for all game developers to implement credits approaches, Facebook is making changes that will hopefully increase revenue for developers despite the cut the company will be taking.

Facebook’s help center gives an explanation regarding the expiration:

You were given free Facebook credits as a promotion from Facebook. Facebook credits are a secure and easy way to buy premium items or power-up in many of your favorite free games and apps.

These free credits were given to you in the middle of last year, but have not been used yet. Any free credits that are not used by February 15, 2011 will expire. These free credits will be available in your account until then and can be used in many games and apps. Any credits that you have purchased will not be affected and will remain in your account.

This means you should hurry up and buy your virtual goods in FarmVille, CityVille, Bejewled Blitz or whatever your social game of choice is.

With over 2,400 four-year universities located in the United States, high school students often find the actual process of applying to college as anxiety inducing as waiting for an acceptance letter.

Splash Networks wants to help you select a school to send an application to easier, and a lot less stressful. Today, the company is launching a Facebook app called AdmissionSplash that will give prospective college students an idea how likely it is that they will be admitted to each school on their lists.

The app walks students through the process by requesting their basic information: test scores, address, and other factors that affect admissions.

Step One: Select your schools.

Step Two: Enter test score, contact, and optional information.

Then an algorithm us used to give users a desirability rating as well as the likelihood, ranging from “very poor” to “very good,” of getting into the schools.

Step Three: Get your chances.

The apps current algorithm includes about 1,500 schools that it developed using the admission data they release.

Starting this July, Facebook is requiring it’s social game developers to process real-world payments using Facebook Credits, the payment platform used for virtual games.

Deborah Liu, who posted the announcement on Monday on the Facebook Developer Blog, wrote that developers may continue to use their own virtual currencies in addition to Facebook Credits, but that Facebook will offer incentives to those who switch entirely to the social network’s in-site exchange system. “These developers will receive early access to product features and premium promotion on Facebook, including featured placement on the Games Dashboard, premium targeting for ads, and access to new co-promotion opportunities,” Liu explained.

Currently 350 applications from over 150 developers have adopted the credits system since its beta launch six months ago. According to Facebook, this accounts for “more than 70% of virtual goods transactions.

In addition, Facebook will receive 30 percent of the profits on all transactions completed with the payment system.
