Free Facebook Credits Expire February 15th

Following a six month promotion of free Facebook credits, the company has decided to end the program while making the move toward complete integration with all games on the social network.

Users who have free credits remaining might be a little frustrated. The decision by Facebook to pull the free credits program is most likely a result of the need to drive users to buy credits rather than just claim free credits.

Rumors have been swirling about that the credits expiration will only be applied to a limited group of users. Our guess is its for users who never even loaded a game after redeeming a free credits offer. As the July 1st deadline for all game developers to implement credits approaches, Facebook is making changes that will hopefully increase revenue for developers despite the cut the company will be taking. Official: Facebook confirms Menlo Park Campus

Facebook formally announced today that it is moving its operations from Palo Alto to the old Sun Microsystems campus in Menlo Park in a city hall ceremony packed with reporters and ecstatic officials from the new host city.

“The Sun campus was far and away our first choice and we’re really excited to make it our future home,” said Facebook CFO David Ebersman. (more…)

Mark Zuckerberg has a stalker

Mark Zuckerberg filed for a restraining order against 31-year-old Pradeep Manukonda. The order states that the guy has tried to “follow, surveil and contact Mr. Zuckerberg using language threatening his personal safety” … and the safety of his girlfriend and his sister.

Pradeep had gone to several Facebook offices in Palo Alto attempting to contact Mark to ask for money for his financially-strapped family. Facebook security also intercepted Pradeep at Mark’s home on January 24 just as he was about to walk up the front steps.

Pradeep received a verbal warning from police. But Mark claims the guy has continued to try to contact him through the mail … even sending flowers to his home with a hand-written letter on January 28. (more…)

Chevy Cruze reads Facebook status updates

It was no secret that Chevrolet was planning to integrate Facebook read-backs into its OnStar technology, and now it seems all but confirmed. A Super Bowl ad has revealed that the 2011 Cruze has the ability to read back statuses on command, giving you one less reason to keep your mind on the task at hand.

Details on how exactly this works have not been released but we have the suspicion that this may work through a Bluetooth enabled smartphone. (more…)

The social site has helped thousands of egyptians communicate and organize for the removal of President Hosni Mubarak.
